NYGH’s Year in Review Celebrates Progress, Courage, and Outstanding Care

As we approach the mid point of a busy fall season, it is important to reflect on our progress and achievements during past year.

NYGH’s Year in Review highlights just some of the incredible accomplishments in 2021-2022 – success stories that are all the more impressive given the daunting challenges the health system faced last year.

It recounts stories of outstanding care, courage, and changed lives and shares progress made on our strategic directions to transform health care at NYGH and across our communities.

We are immensely grateful for our dedicated and compassionate staff, physicians, learners, volunteers, Foundation, and donors, and for North York Toronto Health Partners (NYTHP), and our health, community and government partners for their strong collaboration.

Thank you to the communities, patients, and families we have the privilege of serving.

I hope you enjoy our report.

Karyn Popovich, President & CEO, NYGH

This happened again during the birth of her second child. Both times, the NYGH team got her and her family safely through that very challenging time.

One of these services is the SeamlessMD app, which gives patients the tools to take an active role in managing their care.

Her family left the city for a small town where they didn’t know anyone. This meant starting a new school, meeting new children and teachers, and living in a strange place – away from the comfort and familiarity of her previous home and her routine as a competitive gymnast.
