NYGH Year in Review - An unforgettable year of resilience, recovery and revitalization
North York General Hospital (NYGH) has launched its Year in Review for 2020-2021. The report highlights moments from an unforgettable year as we worked to provide outstanding care to each patient and meet community needs while responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Celebrating 15 years of leading-edge hip and knee surgery
Once every step became unbearable, Marnie Donaldson knew it was time to find help for her troubling knee.

“I couldn’t do anything anymore—I couldn’t play golf or even go for walks,” shares Marnie. “Every step was painful.” Marnie did what most people do when looking for information on where to find help—she asked her friends.
Get Well Clinic makes virtual care accessible
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual care has been supplementing and replacing traditional in-person clinical visits. It has become a seamless, convenient way to directly connect patients with health care providers and community support services and allows people to speak with their doctor from the comfort of their homes.

Virtual care is still relatively new in Ontario’s health system and to be successful virtual services need to be easy and accessible for all patients and caregivers who could benefit.
Reactivation Care Centre - Restoring patients' health on their journey home
North York General Hospital’s (NYGH) Reactivation Care Centre (RCC) is a collaborative care model that is designed for patients who no longer require hospital care but need restorative care to support their transition home or to another setting, like long-term care. Currently, North York General’s RCC is located at Humber Finch Hospital Finch site but will soon relocate to a new space in the East Tower of the current Branson site.
New app makes health navigation easier
North York General Hospital (NYGH), together with North York Toronto Health Partners (NYTHP) recently launched a new online application called the North York Navigator, which acts as a ‘digital front door’ for patients and caregivers to seamlessly access hospital and health care services through the convenience of their personal devices, from wherever they are.
