The eCare initiative at North York General Hospital uses advanced, integrated information systems and medical devices to help improve safety and quality of care.
North York General Hospital is the first acute care hospital in Canada to be presented with the HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence. Only about 50 hospitals around the world are recipients of this award by the Health Information Management Systems Society, known as HIMSS. North  York General was awarded this distinction for its eCare initiative, a multi-year, hospital-wide health care information technology transformation strategy.

The Gale and Graham Wright Prostate Centre is the only place in Canada using the transperineal biopsy method that has considerable patient and health care system benefits.
 
CCDC helps patient move forward

Patient  Sharon Dolores  is grateful for the care and support she has received from the registered professionals in the Centre for Complex Diabetes Care (CCDC).

Despite the obstacles she has faced, Sharon continually strives to better herself and move forward. "She is in the top 5% of patients who make drastic changes to their life and their diabetes," says CCDC Social Worker  Nicole Pacheco.

Valerie (Val) Ramsay is following her passion in a new one-year Professional Master's Diploma in Dietetics taking place at North York General Hospital in partnership with Ryerson University.

The newly created program is one of the many ways North York General is preparing and teaching future health care professionals to meet the needs of patients and families.
