Enhancing
Services & Communication
Materials

During the last several months, Doctors Care board and staff have worked hard to adapt and grow programs and services to better meet the needs of the community.

Along with these efforts, new marketing materials have been developed to deliver that messaging, and increase awareness of what Doctors Care can offer the community and medically underserved.

With newly developed communication materials, including refreshed branding for each of our "4 Core Services" on new flyers, brochure, cards and website, we also better establish those services to our hospital and physician partners for patient referrals. In addition, The Pulse, Doctors Care's newsletter, carries this messaging to over 2,300 stakeholders, as well as to social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Global Colorado: We're All Here

You cannot walk the halls of Doctors Care without noticing the stunning pictures of children from around the world, taken by Dr. Richard and Shelli Steckel. The Steckels' work will be featured in a photography project named Global Colorado:  We're All Here . . . a tribute to the growing diversity of Colorado. The exhibit features pictures of individuals born outside of the country and currently living in Colorado and celebrates the enrichment they bring to our state.

The Jiang Family

The exhibit will be located at Denver International Airport on Concourse A (over the bridge) and opens June 20. It will run for four-six months.

In addition to taking photos of patients (the Jiang Family) for their exhibit, Richard and Shelli captured some of our staff, patients and providers in the Doctors Care Clinic. We are grateful to the Steckels for providing us with photographs which beautifully capture the essence of Doctors Care's mission. Thank you, Richard and Shelli!

Rayen's Story: Desperate Times
Lead to Loving Care

Rayen*, an uninsured 28 year-old Native American female and her boyfriend recently came to the Doctors Care clinic seeking care. Rayen was experiencing pneumonia and respiratory symptoms and appeared jaundiced. The couple had fallen on desperate times.

They moved to the area because both had lost their jobs working on North Dakota oil rigs. With their money running low, Rayen's health condition had worsened to the point where they decided to forgo paying rent in order to scrape together the clinic's $40 copay. New Certification for Doctors Care:
Medicaid/CHP+ Site
Guide - Laurie Swan

Doctors Care is now an authorized Medicaid/CHP+ Application Assistance Site (CAAS). The certification allows us to assist families in completing the Application for Medical Assistance and verify citizenship and identification documents. It also allows Doctors Care to assist with all the steps leading up to certification and let families know if and when they have been approved or denied. If denied, we can refer them to other services depending on the circumstances surrounding their ineligibility. The CAAS certification also allows our staff and volunteers to receive additional training, and allows Doctors Care to be posted on the HCPF Medicaid Assistance site locator.
