Although allergies do not cause asthma, they can trigger asthma symptoms.1 Children with well-controlled asthma symptoms can lead normal lives; however, if your child’s asthma is uncontrolled, allergies can make their symptoms worse. Uncontrolled asthma can have a significant cost to families due to being at increased risk of an emergency department visit, hospitalization, and school absenteeism.2
