The Pulse of the Community: Resources in Your Neighborhood

Through 2-1-1, United Way has a finger on the pulse of America's financial stability. Whether it's fielding calls from people who need heating assistance during the polar vortex or connecting federal workers, contractors and others suffering from the Government Shutdown with rent and utility help, 2-1-1 is on the front lines.

The New Jersey information and referral service began in 2002 when the United Ways of New Jersey led the effort to give people an easy way to find health and human services. In 2018 alone, NJ 2-1-1 connected 7,043 individuals to financial assistance and other services in Mercer County. 2-1-1 is made possible by United Way.
