LETTER FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Dear Neighbor,

Spring is in full bloom, and so is the state legislative session! While policy discussions may not always be the most exciting topic, the decisions made during this time have a direct impact on the quality of life for all Texans.

As your Commissioner, I remain fully engaged with our state representatives to ensure your concerns are heard and that Precinct 3 can continue to prioritize critical issues like drainage, road improvements, parks, and neighborhood safety.

While I'm focused on happenings in Austin, Precinct 3 crews and programming teams are hard at work, providing engaging activities at our community centers, hosting fun and educational park programs, coordinating exciting bus trips for residents, and more! In addition, we continue to fulfill hundreds of service requests each month—ensuring that your needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Our mission is simple: to be good stewards of your tax dollars while delivering the highest level of service to our community. In this edition, you'll see what we're doing to achieve that. Thank you for your trust and support as we work together to make Precinct 3 better!

Sincerely,

Commissioner Tom Ramsey

GOFORTH PARK TAPPED FOR STORM PREP PILOT PROGRAM

Working in similar manner to the Cypress Park pilot program which

uses a valve, Goforth Park will feature a pump system

Precinct 3 introduces its second pilot program to boost stormwater detention, with this one at Goforth Park. The $4.5 million project will include the installation of a pump system to lower the park's lake level before a storm hits. This will provide additional storm water detention for Horsepen Creek, holding enough water to fill 121 Olympic-sized swimming pools! Look for this project to conclude by the end of this year.
