Dear Neighbors,
July is a time to celebrate our freedom, honor the men and women who fight for it, and remember the people and events that have shaped America's story. From Independence Day to the recent observance of Juneteenth, these moments remind us that our history is worth remembering and sharing with future generations.
Precinct 3 continued the commitment to preserving history by hosting an incredible 250th birthday celebration for America at the George H.W. Bush Community Center. Hundreds of guests across multiple generations bonded over lunch and entertainment all while sharing love for our great nation.
In honor of Juneteenth, we unveiled new community signs recognizing Kohrville, a historic community founded by formerly enslaved families following emancipation. Events like these help residents and visitors remember and learn about the people whose perseverance and determination helped build our community.
Just as we honor our history, we also remain focused on building a stronger future together. We celebrated partnership projects with MUDs to help place much needed streetlights in neighborhoods, and completing sidewalk connections to ensure pedestrians can safely get to school or local businesses. This is the common-sense governance our forefathers envisioned and fought for.
Thank you for allowing me to serve you. I wish you and your family a safe, enjoyable, and blessed Fourth of July as we celebrate the enduring spirit of our great nation.
Commissioner Tom Ramsey
