Dear Neighbors,
Summer is here, and Precinct 3's parks and community centers are ready for you! Be sure to read through to find family-friendly events you won't want to miss.
This was a busy month with major movement on projects impacting Precinct 3 - starting with East Harris County's huge win as the EPA took a critical step toward removing the toxic northern San Jacinto River Waste Pits. Then, we ended May with the groundbreaking of the Greenhouse Road/290 Underpass in Cypress, which will reduce traffic and emergency response issues by diverting traffic underneath the railroad tracks.
Both of these projects have been critical needs for Harris County for decades. Reaching this point required years of coordination between multiple layers of government, relentless community advocacy, public and private sector interactions - all with a goal to make our community safer and better. These two are the perfect examples of how impactful local government can be when we work with our community partners.
Lastly, we know hurricane season is top of mind for many residents. Rest assured, Precinct 3’s engineers are working closely with the Harris County Flood Control District to ensure critical projects continue moving forward, while our Road and Bridge team is hard at work maintaining drainage ditches, clearing limbs from roadways, and actively training to ensure a swift response when needed.
Precinct 3 takes pride in focusing on our core duties to you and executing them efficiently and responsibly.
Always an honor to serve you,
Commissioner Tom Ramsey
