Dear Neighbors,
While much of the focus this time of year turns to hurricane season, I want to take a moment to highlight the work already in progress across Precinct 3.
Our road and bridge and maintenance teams are taking steps to keep our community storm-ready. From trimming trees and clearing ditches to preparing our parks and public facilities, this work is all about lowering risks and making sure we’re ready to respond quickly when severe weather hits.
When storms move into our area, our teams mobilize to work around the clock—placing high water signs, cutting and removing downed trees, clearing debris, and supporting recovery efforts across our communities.
At the same time, we keep flood mitigation a top priority throughout the entire year. During the last Commissioners Court meeting, I voiced concerns and requested additional data from the Harris County Flood Control District. We are working with the Texas General Land Office (GLO) to require the District to provide monthly reports clearly highlighting schedule shifts or financial variances. This is intended to give Commissioners Court the ability to identify problems early and take corrective action if needed. I will continue pushing for the transparency our community expects.
As always, we hope this hurricane season brings mild weather and plenty of sunny days. But regardless of what lies ahead, please know that Precinct 3 will remain prepared, responsive, and committed to keeping our community safe.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve,
Commissioner Tom Ramsey
