Honoring Our Veterans at Martin Luther School!

We are excited that Martin Luther School will be in session on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, giving us a special opportunity to recognize and honor the men and women who have faithfully served our country!

We are planning a special Veterans Day program following chapel that morning. As part of our celebration, we would love to put together a slideshow featuring veterans who are connected to our MLS families and staff.

We need your help! If you have a veteran in your family whom you would like to honor, please send us a photograph (preferably in uniform), along with their name and, if you wish, the branch of the military in which they served. You may send them to wolfgram@lutherschools.org.

More details about our Veterans Day celebration will be shared as the date approaches, but we wanted to get a head start on gathering photos for our slideshow.

Thanks in advance for your participation!

(This is a wonderful example of what we are looking for for our slide show. The only other thing I would add is to include the name and branch of military.)

"Super "Guardians"?

We are blessed at Martin Luther School to have some parents that are involved in law inforcement. What a blessing they are to help keep us safe in our school and community! Occasionally, you may see one of these peace officers just greeting families at the beginning of the day, maybe watching students at recess, or just checking in to see how things are going. This week Officer Tyler Mahowald shared with our classes some of the things he does as a police officer. We love having Officer Mahowald as a "Super Guardian" for our school and our community!

GUARDIAN SIGN UP

Speaking of Guardians, we are always looking for more! If interested, please contact the school office and we can get you going! If you have been a Guardian in the past and would like to schedule a time to come in, click on the This link.

Band Opportunity!

Andy Jangula is once again leading the band program here at MLS for students from the 5th grade on up. Katie Woodside will not be participaing in the program after all, but Mr. Jangula will continue to instruct for those willing to participate.

We are able to offer this service FREE of CHARGE for students willing to give instumental band a try! You do need to provide your own instrument, but the lessons and rehearsals are no cost to you! What a great opportunity to learn a skill that can enrich your child for a lifetime!

Lessons currently take place Tuesdays and Thursday mornings from 7:30-8:00. We are interested in finding out what time may be more convenient to encourage more students to participate. Please let us know how we can improve the program.

If you have even an interest in giving band a try, please contact Mrs. Wolfgram. Let's make a joyful noise!!!
