END OF THE YEAR REMINDER

As the End of the Year comes to a close, please make sure you have settled any negative lunch balances or any other fees. Any outstanding balances will be run through TADS at the end of the year.

Don't forget to check Lost and Found before the end of the school year!

Mrs. Hood is moving to fill the 3rd grade classroom beginning this fall. Consequently, we are looking to fill a NEW position!

SUMMER PLANS AND PLAYGROUND

Since we are not hosting Camp Luther this summer, and our playground enhancement is long overdue, this summer will be the time to make some adjustment, additions, and repairs to our playground!

If you are a creative-thinking person who can envision some playground revisions, I encourage you to reach out to me. My hope is to build a playground committee who could assist in not only the vision for the playground, but may have the know-how to possible build some features. There are some repairs that need to be addressed, as well.

We do have some substantial funds, but we'll need to be realistic as to what we are capable of adding to our playground area.

Please email Mrs. Wolfgram at wolfgram@lutherschools.org if you would like to be involved in this project!

SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES AT MLS

Do you have kids that enjoy chess or would like to learn how to play? Sign them up for one or more of this summer’s chess camps run by “That Chess Guy” Todd Wolf. Camps will run 4 consecutive days for 3 hours per day. Students will solve chess puzzles, learn chess basics, tactics, strategies, opening principles, checkmate patterns and techniques, etc. Participants will also be introduced to chess resources that are available to help them continue to play and learn when the camps are through. Possibly best of all, students may make life-long friends and become part of the local chess community. Students are welcome to sign up for multiple camps and sessions if they wish.

SUMMER MUSIC CAMP

“5,6,7,8….”  Martin Luther School will offer a music camp Monday, June 23-26, 9:00-12:00 to prepare students who may not yet be familiar with reading music and understanding musical notation. This would be for students entering grades 4 in the fall and older. This camp would greatly assist students beginning band instruction in the fall. We will engage in various rhythm and counting activities, implementing a variety of musical instruments. The cost is $50 per student!"
