Pride season is well upon us, and the opportunities for celebration are numerous these days. As we reflect on the strides our community has made socially and politically in the last fifty years, we are grateful for the courage and sacrifice of our siblings on the front lines of change, fifty years ago at Stonewall.

It is the courage and resilience of our community that has allowed us to survive and begin to thrive these past fifty years. While Pride flags fly over city halls and state capitals and businesses across our country, there are community members in our backyard who do not survive the violence of transmisogyny. We have made tremendous progress, and yet too many of our community members still live at the margins of society, sleeping in our streets and suffering disproportionate rates of death, violence and sickness.

While many of us are able to find and build lives in safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces, many others need a place like Q to find that kind of affirmation and love.  After ten years in our home on Mississippi Avenue we are making some much needed improvements and upgrades to our space because e believe the people who depend on Q Center deserve access to a space that is safe in every way. Please join our campaign and help us reach our $25,000 goal.
If you haven't already had the chance to get your Pride on, now the celebrations begin in earnest! We are honored to be included as collaborators, partners and beneficiaries in so many events this season, and we hope to see you at some point this month. There are so many ways to celebrate and support our communities this Pride Month.
