CELEBRATE BOB DYLAN'S 80TH BIRTHDAY
WITH LARRY FISHMAN
MONDAY, MAY 24 - 3:00-4:00 P.M.
|
|
Come celebrate Bob Dylan's 80th birthday with us!!! Our speaker, Larry Fishman, will lead a discussion of the six Bobs of the Nobel Laureate’s long and fascinating career - Folkie Bob, Angry Bob, Hillbilly Bob, Jesus Bob, Rock ’n Roll Bob and Old Bob.
Larry is a Dylan aficionado (despite his professional background as a financial advisor) who has amassed a collection of thousands of hours of concert recordings, studio outtakes, rehearsals, and interviews. The discussion will of course include Dylan's wonderful music. Join us for a joyous celebration!!!!
Larry is a marathon runner with three children, the youngest of whom has the middle name of Dylan. Pete Seeger has appeared at his house twice for political fundraisers, but his Dylan dive didn’t begin until his mid-thirties.

LLAIC LOVES ART
YALE UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY
PRESENTS
"SAIL AROUND THE WORLD"
WEDNESDAY, MAY 26 @ 1:30-2:45
LLAIC is delighted to welcome the Yale University Art Gallery speakers for a return LLAIC Loves Art engagement. The Yale programs delve deeply into a few works of art with comparisons, contrasts and much discussion about meaning and techniques.
“Sail Around the World” will take a close look at two artworks from different maritime cultures. The speakers will focus on a textile from Indonesia and a painting from the Netherlands. Presenters are Yale Gallery teachers, graduate students trained in museum education.
Founded in 1832, the Yale University Art Gallery is the oldest university art museum in America. Today, it is a center for teaching, learning, and scholarship and is a preeminent cultural asset for Yale University, the wider academic community, and the public.
We are delighted that the University is continuing to share its works by supporting LLAIC Loves Art.
Click here to request an invitation. This presentation will be in the form of a Zoom meeting with limited attendance, so please sign up early. You will receive your invitation by Tuesday, May 25 at 3:00 p.m. If we are oversubscribed, you will be notified as soon as that determination is made.
