SAVE YOUR TUESDAYS!
JULY 14 THROUGH AUGUST 11
Summersession this year will be entirely in person on Tuesdays at Temple Shalom. We will have two programs, 10:30-12:00 and 1:00-2:30, with lunch in between, the usual bring-your-own or purchase pizza. Like our regular LUNCH@LLAIC programs, these will be simply drop-in, no advance registration necessary, come morning or afternoon or both, and of course no charge. In fact, we are hoping you will bring friends and introduce them to LLAIC. Summer Current Events sessions will continue on Zoom.
Kick-off Summersession Program
Tuesday, July 14, 2026
Beginning at 10:30, the morning program will be a TED talk entitled "The Power of Regret", facilitated by Mary Mansfield. Based on a global study of over 16,000 people, Daniel H. Pink identifies four core types of regret and examines how understanding these can help you transform remorse into better decision-making and use them to guide your next big life choices.
The afternoon program begins at 1:00 with a presentation on Napoleon by Dr. William Koehler, Dean of the Sloane School of Business and Communication at Regis College, who holds a PhD in Modern European History from Brandeis and has taught in higher education for over 30 years.
Napoleon Bonaparte ruled France from 1799 until 1815. Not only did he establish one of the largest empires the world has ever known, but he also transformed French and European society. Professor Koehler will examine Bonaparte's life and the impacts of his rule, much of which still shapes the current world.
Watch this space for descriptions of the Summersession programs being offered each week. Hope to see you and your friends!
