Volume 38, Issue 19 / May  2016
Letter from the Artistic Director

Our 83rd mainstage season closes with a pair of theatrical gems that demonstrate the power of pure storytelling, and celebrate the choices and commitments that we make in life.
MOMologues 2: Off to School, directed by Barbara Barkan, picks up where we left off in 2013 with The  MOMologues . A quartet of women with school age children makes the audience a confidant, sharing a round robin of stories and anecdotes that run the gamut of emotions and experiences. By turns hilarious and heart-warming, and always true. A special gift for Mom, running May 6, 7 & 8.

A Chorus Line , directed by Stephanie L. Stephan, runs the gamut of emotions as well, but it's also a big, splashy musical (!!!), with memorable songs and spectacular dancing. The story: Sixteen dancers compete for roles in a new Broadway musical, and by the end of the show, we know everything about them. Winner of both the Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize, it's a love letter to the hard-working dancers in the chorus, but also a clear-eyed look at the setbacks and sacrifices of a life in the theatre. June 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 & 19.

         "Won't forget, can't regret
          What I did for love."
I'll see you at the theatre!
Dave DeChristopher
Artistic Director

Quite a Character at 92

Check out the article that The Toledo Blade did about our beautiful Madge Levinson! She truly is a treasure to us here at The Toledo Repertoire Theatre!

'If Madge Levinson, the woman in the accompanying photo, looks familiar, there are lots of good reasons.  You may have seen this veteran actress in some of the more than 100 Toledo-area community theater productions in which she's appeared. Or the 99 TV commercials she's done, including the one she was in on April 15, for Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan. And then there are her many radio, print, and corporate ads'.
