In this short video, Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us how to cultivate the Five Spiritual Powers, which work together as a tremendous source of happiness and liberation.
Classically, the Five Spiritual Powers are: faith (or confidence), diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and insight. In this teaching, Thich Nhat Hanh adds a sixth, the power of letting go.
We hope you feel inspired to cultivate the seeds of the Five Spiritual Powers, to revitalize your practice in this spring season.

Monastic Life
| Interview with Sister Dao Nghiem |

In search of meaning in her life, at the age of twenty-nine Sister Dao Nghiem joined a spiritual yoga community. During her twenty-one years with them, she trained hundreds of yoga teachers. When she met Thich Nhat Hanh in 2002, Sister Dao Nghiem decided to ordain as a nun in the International Plum Village Tradition. She now lives in Plum Village Monastery in France.
In this interview, Sister Dao Nghiem recounts experiences learning from Thich Nhat Hanh as a monastic member of the International Plum Village community.
"The first time I met Thay was in January 2002, at Plum Village. I had come to spend a week there, especially to meet him. I was deeply touched by his presence, his inner silence, his openness, his listening. At the beginning of that year, my aunt was in a coma, and she died during my stay in France. The way Thay talked about death resonated deeply with me."
