Spring Sports Update 2020
Letter from the Directors of Sports Ministry
Dear OLMC Sports Families,

We hope this letter finds you and your family safe and healthy. Over the past few weeks, we have been praying and discerning the future of our spring sports programs. With the news that schools and sporting organizations will be closed at a minimum through the remaining school year, we have made some decisions around how we will handle this situation.

Part of the discerning process has been taking a look at each individual sport and thinking through the possibility of moving them to the summer or even early fall. The OLMC "in-house" sports have more flexibility than the "CYO" sponsored sports. With no real certain timeline of when gathering people at sporting events will be safe, you can image that this is very hard to plan! Safety of course is our #1 priority.

Considering all of these factors, we have outlined a "plan of action" for each sport. Some sports have been cancelled and some have been moved to the late summer/early fall. Please take a few minutes to read the sections below, which will describe how we will move forward for each sport.

After you read through the sections that apply to you and your family, we are asking that you please communicate with us through a Spring Sports Form. If the sport you registered for has been cancelled, the Spring Sports Form will allow us to understand how you would like us to process your sports registration fee(s). We are offering several options within the form and ask you to prayerfully consider all three before you submit.

Please fill out an individual form for each child you have registered. If we do not hear from you by Monday, April 13th, and your sport(s) has been cancelled, we will process your sports fee(s) as a donation to the church.

CYO Track, CYO Kickball & CYO Soccer
CYO has officially cancelled all spring sports for the 2020 season.

CYO Kickball- grades 7th/8th
CYO Track & Field- grades 3rd-8th
CYO Co-Ed Soccer- grades 4th-8th

CYO officially cancelled their spring sports. We do not have any options to offer these sports at a different time of the year. Please fill out the Spring Sports Form so that we can process your registration fee accordingly. Thank you for considering donating your fee(s) to the church.

OLMC In-House Baseball
OLMC has officially cancelled our in-house baseball season.

PreK/KG T-Ball, 1st/2nd grade, 3rd/4th grade leagues.
OLMC has officially cancelled all of our in-house recreational baseball leagues. We are so sorry to miss out on this baseball season. We had 80 participants planned to play! We look forward to offering baseball again next year. If you didn't know already, we had (still have) created a partnership with Westfield to play games against their teams and share facilities. This partnership will make Raider baseball super fun and exciting in the years to come! Thank you and please consider making your registration fee(s) a donation to the church.
OLMC Lacrosse
OLMC has officially postponed the spring 2020 lacrosse season.

All Teams- moving to the summer/early fall
Coach Galvin has been in communication with all teams about moving our lacrosse program to the summer and early fall. These tentative plans are being formulated. If lacrosse does have to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will offer families the same options as other spring sports.

OLMC In-House Soccer
OLMC has officially moved the Co-Ed Recreational Soccer League to the early fall.

PreK, KG, 1st/2nd grades, 3rd grade leagues.
OLMC has officially moved our in-house recreational soccer leagues to the early fall. We are currently putting plans in place to host this league from August-September. Everyone that has registered for soccer thus far, will continue to be registered to play in the fall. Please confirm your registration by completing the OLMC Spring Sports Form .
