Good morning, Saint Mark!

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday, which is a is a special day in the liturgical calendar dedicated to celebrating the doctrine of the Trinity, which is the belief in one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

It's also the day we continue our Fruit of the Spirit Series. This Sunday we'll receive what it means to be faithful.

Culture & History

Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival

Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. On June 17, 2021, it officially became a federal holiday. Juneteenth 2025 will occur on Thursday, June 19.

Atlanta has many activities, the largest of which is a two-day festival and parade at Piedmont Park on

June 14-15. We encourage you to honor and celebrate our Black siblings and participate in the many activities which are celebrating the end of slavery in our country.
