The ReMarks
October 14, 2026
| | |
Good morning sunshine. We hope you had as good of a time as we did on Sunday. The worship service was a tangible example of advocacy and activism. Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.
Here's what's coming up next!
| | |
As of October 13th, we've raised $140,085 ! Which puts us 7% away from our $150,000 goal!
You have until October 25th to contribute to The Legacy Campaign. Funds from the campaign will be used to Replace our Sanctuary Sound System, Secure our Church Campus with dependable key-card access, and Restore our historic Fifth Street Red Doors.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us get to this point. We will need your continued support to cross the finish line!
| | | Policing Alternatives & Diversion Initiative (PAD) Training | | |
There will be a specialized de-escalation training led by Darci Jaret, the Training Coordinator at the Policing Alternatives & Diversion Initiative (PAD). Everyone is invited to attend this singular event happening at 6:30 PM on October 28.

Where is God calling Saint Mark next?
Following our recent Leadership Retreat, our church leaders will be inviting you into conversations about what makes Saint Mark special, what matters most, and our hopes for the future.
Every voice matters, including yours. Together, let’s listen, dream, and prayerfully discern what’s next for Saint Mark.
| | Support The Drama Ministry | | |
The Saint Mark Drama Ministry presents The Diary of Anne Frank (November 19, 20, and 21 at 7:30 PM & November 22 at 2:00 PM). This powerful play is as relevant today as it ever has been as it puts a deeply personal human face to the atrocities of the Holocaust. This work demonstrates how normal social exclusion, scapegoating, and institutional discrimination can escalate into mass violence when individuals and societies look the other way. At the same time, it shows the universal adolescent experience as Anne deals with questions of self identity, family tensions and personal ideals.
We hope you will join us for this important and moving production.
We also hope you'll join us for building the production set! Before the curtain can open, the actors need a stage to perform on. Set construction is happening on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Anyone is welcome to join.
Contact Buddy Wofford to sign up.
Lastly, The Drama Ministry is inviting all the schools in Atlanta to witness daytime performances of the show. If you think your student's school would like to participate, contact Howie Ashley.
There are many ways to support the Drama Ministry. All of them are greatly appreciated!
| | Help Keep Saint Mark Seen and Heard! | | Saint Mark’s A/V team urgently needs volunteers! Our dedicated volunteers need more helping hands with sound, cameras, and captions for our weekly 11 a.m. services. You don’t have to serve in the balcony every week—just one Sunday a month would make a tremendous difference. Some roles require no experience, just a little tech savvy and a willingness to learn. Training is provided! Help make worship accessible in the sanctuary and online. Interested? See Matt McClure, Paul Spencer, Johnny Sims, or the church office. | | Wednesday Night Fellowship | | |
Tonight's fellowship will be small group discussions about membership vow. Specifically, the vow of prayer.
The kitchen is serving pork chop loins along with fresh vegetables and dessert at 5:30. Vespers and Handbells start at 6:30, choir rehearsal at 7:30.
The cost of dinner is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors, and young-adults (ages 18-35) can receive a complimentary meal as provided by the Young Adult Ministry budget.
Email office@stmarkumc.org to RSVP.
