First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, | | |
This past Sunday, we encountered the third ‘mark’ of Methodism: A Methodist gives thanks (in every situation). Giving thanks, or expressing gratitude, can be difficult at times as the negatives of life are far easier to hold onto than the blessings and the positives we experience. Gratitude can also be difficult because cultivating a soul of gratitude takes time to root and grow in our lives. Yet, gratitude is grounded in the greatness and goodness of God. As we sit in those qualities of God, we begin to realize that we are living our lives firmly wrapped in the love and grace of God. This realization then leads into a genuine response of gratitude.
This week we invite you to practice gratitude in a deeper way: Be fully present to the greatness and goodness of God that is being poured into your life (regardless of how big or small it may seem).

Spring Choir Concert
performance footage
| |
The choirs of Saint James, and Saint Mark, United Methodist Church performed Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria on Sunday. It was a performance of two talented groups, and when paired with an orchestra accompaniment, it created a powerful experience for everyone who was there to witness.
If you were unable to attend in person, simply click the button below to view the performance footage. It's a great video to play during your evening commute or during a quite moment of reflection.
Enjoy!

| | Service of Healing & Reconciliation | | |
You are warmly invited to the Service of Healing & Reconciliation. This service offers space to bring before God the places where we carry hurt, grief, division, or weariness, both as individuals and as a community.
Through scripture, music, guided prayer, and moments of quiet, we will seek God’s healing grace and reconciling love.
Whether you are seeking healing, offering forgiveness, or simply holding space for others, this service is an invitation to rest in God’s mercy and to move forward together in hope. Come as you are.

The next Make Your Mark Day is June 6th. This occurrence will be unique in that we will be focusing on three areas of the church: the gymnasium, the staff parking garage, and the front lawn. These areas need some tender love and care, but we can't do it all on our own. Be part of this day of service, by committing to an hour, or the day. Every little bit helps.
Mike Beecham is the lead for the gymnasium, Sheri Graham is the lead on the garage, and Jeff Bradly is the lead on the front lawn. Contact theses individuals to let them know you're coming.
We definitely hope to see you there!
