The ReMarks

July 22, 2026

How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?

    How long will you hide your face from me?

2 How long must I bear pain[a] in my soul

    and have sorrow in my heart all day long?

How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God!

    Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,

4 and my enemy will say, “I have prevailed”;

    my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.

5 But I trusted in your steadfast love;

    my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

6 I will sing to the Lord

    because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Who else is enjoying the God at the Theatre sermon series? It's incredible how the Lord can truly be found everywhere.

Grab your cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy this morning's ReMarks.

Camp Meeting Month

Hymn Suggestions

A hymn book

Camp Meeting Month begins in August. Last week we said that lemonade would be served on the front lawn after 11:00 AM worship; however, that's not true. Lemonade will be served in the hallway, outside the Parlor, after 9:00 AM worship throughout the month of August.

Morning lemonade isn't the only thing we're giving out this Camp Meeting Month. We're also giving you the opportunity to influence the worship services! Submit your favorite hymns by completing this form, and you just might hear them play in next month's services.

We look forward to seeing how many of you have the same favorite hymns!

One Worship Service

There will only be one worship service on August 16. It will be at 10:00 AM in the Sanctuary, and it will be followed by a southern-style catered lunch on the terrace. All are welcome!

Sunday school classes will not be meeting on August 16.

Re-keying the Church Campus

A hand holding keys

Approximately 30 interior doors throughout our buildings will be rekeyed in an ongoing effort to secure the Saint Mark campus. This will not affect any exterior door entrance, and work is slated to begin towards the end of August. We are creating a key log to document who currently has keys to what doors and to minimize any inconvenience to our members. So, before the change is made, we need you to reach out and let us know what keys you have!

Please contact Mark Becker, the Operations Coordinator, at mbecker@stmarkumc.org or 773.206.1949. Thank you.

The evening of August 15 will be an evening of music and memories about the many miracles that have occurred in the 150 year life of Saint Mark United Methodist Church. The event will begin at 6:30 PM with a fully catered dinner, followed by a performance of vignettes that depict some of the people who made a lasting impact, and some of the moments in Saint Mark history that many believe to be miracles!

You're invited not only to attend this special event, but also to partner with the Drama Ministry by becoming a sponsor.

Our initial focus will be Wade Hall, but efforts will continue to other areas around campus.
