Regulation and Tax Cuts and Tax Reform will make America Grow again!
Paychecks will be larger and this will spur the economy, create more jobs, and actually generate more government income as a smaller piece of a much bigger pie is actually larger.

- The report said the testing involves ensuring the anthrax survives the immense temperatures generated during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere.

Farmer Faces Nearly 3 Million Dollar Fine
For Doing Something All Farmers Do Every Season.
Farmers plowing their fields are specifically exempt from the Clean Water Act rules forbidding discharging material into U.S. waters, but this farmer faces is accused of violating the Clean Water Act by not obtaining a permit to discharge dredged or fill material into seasonal wetlands considered
waters of the United States.
Duarte sued the Army Corps and the state, alleging they violated his constitutional right of due process under the law by issuing the cease and desist orders without a hearing. The U.S. Attorney's Office counter-sued Duarte Nursery to enforce the Clean Water Act violation

HB 4220 - Right to choose and opt out of "smart meters"
SB 637, Possible testimony at Energy and Technology Committe Thursday December 28, 2017 - Michigan's 5G wireless infrastructure bill allowing electrical rights of way to be cluttered with small cell towers every 500 ft in the right of ways outside your home and/or place of work; refrigerator-sized telecom equipment in the right of ways outside your home and/or place of work; telecom companies to install more robust utility poles to handle the weight of their small cell towers right outside your home and/or place of work; increased levels of radio-frequency radiation in the environment, cap fees for telecom companies (while WE are charged to "opt-out" of radiation-emitting "smart" meters); give our right of ways away to telecom companies. These utility rights of way are often on your property that you pay taxes for, but restrict your use and enjoyment and freedom to control. Some communities get kick-backs and accept the revenuw but still tax you.
House Bill 4968 to prevent conflicts of interest for local officials related to potential wind farm developments. ...Glenn's bill would prohibit local government officials, including planning commission members, from voting on issues where they might financially benefit. 'Public officials should act in the public's best interests, not their own financial interests,' said Glenn on Tuesday in a release. 'Government officials shouldn't be voting on wind farm developments if they stand to personally profit from the projects.'"

We are disturbed by what appears to be a rush of Republican legislators who ran on limiting government (e.g. Tedder and Lucido), who have introduced bills to require licensing, fees, continuing educations, etc. for workers. Some are House members running for the Senate. More government interference we do not need! We will report more on this in the next issue.

ongress has reached an agreement on tax legislation that will deliver more jobs, higher wages, and massive tax relief for American families and for American companies," the President said.
Here's the President's case by the numbers:
- $2,000+: What the typical family of four earning $75,000 will see in income tax cuts, slashing their tax bill in half
- $4,000: How much incomes are expected to rise across the board as a result of tax cuts on U.S. businesses
- 1/3: The amount one sample Ohio family in the 25-percent bracket and paying nearly $14,000 in taxes would reduce their yearly tax burden
- 3%: The level of growth the U.S. economy has already surged to-tax reform would take it even further

Comment 2: There are some friends among our cause who are taking issue that this was not big enough.
That Trump is a pragmatist of no moal values of compass. A person of moral compass and values can be realistic about what can be accomplished at a particular time. Push the bubble as much as one can and still move forward. This success comes after failure to pass several initiatives based upon campaign promises. Who thought it might actually be accomplished? It was pragmatic and smart and principled to listen and carve a mult-faceted law that used one interest (favorable to ones principles) to add another interest (favorable to ones principles), and another and another. It was at least a four-for: Tax relief; Tax Reform, Energy Reform (ANWR) and repeal ACA mandates. You can complain around the edges, and one agrees a bigger reform/repeal is wanted, but this was a principled and pragmatic master stroke.

The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building. Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute. The substitute wanted to know what to play.
"Here's a copy of the service," the pastor said impatiently. "But, you'll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances."
During the service, the minister paused and said, "Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up."
At that moment, the substitute organist played "The Star Spangled Banner."

I argue that America needs pragmatists because pragmatists see a problem and find ways to fix them. They do not see a problem and compound it by creating more problems.
You may not like Donald Trump, but I suspect that the reason some people do not like him is because:
(1) he is antithetical to the "good old boy" method of brokering backroom deals that fatten the coffers of politicians;
(2) they are unaccustomed to hearing a candidate speak who is unencumbered by the financial shackles of those who owe them vis-a-vis donations;
(3) he is someone who is free of idiomatic political ideology; and
(4) he is someone who understands that it takes more than hollow promises and political correctness to make America great again.

One of Ronald Reagan's favorite philosophers was a Michigander named Russell Kirk. Sadly, too few from the ranks of today's conservative movement are familiar with the 'Sage of Mecosta' and how he nourished the intellectual roots of America's philosophical heritage.
The son of a locomotive engineer, Kirk was raised alongside the railroad tracks in Plymouth, Michigan, however he would come to see-and would see more deeply than most-many facets of America's society. He would work in factories for Henry Ford, in the military for Uncle Sam, in academia for behemoth universities, and among the ivory towers of politics for publishers and Presidents. Stoically independent, from atop 'Piety Hill' his ancestral home in Mecosta, he enriched and reinforced a massive movement by writing some thirty books and hundreds of articles, lectures and columns.
