In response to several requests from our Sage-ing community, we are offering you the opportunity to purchase these documentaries about the life of Sage-ing International’s founder, Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. This year marks the centennial of Sage-ing International’s beloved founder, Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, born in 1924 in Zholkiev, Poland in what is now western Ukraine. His story is narrated in three unique episodes by his daughter, Chana Tina (Schachter) Duskis of Israel. The episodes were recorded separately in a podcast video-type format, and are now available to you.

Each episode leads to the next as Chana Tina continues spinning out the remarkable synchronicities leading up to different events in her father’s life. Join her as she shares the events and meanings behind not only her family’s new formation but also the inception of Sage-ing International.

Documentary 1, The 18-Miracle Escape, Reb Zalman’s family's harrowing escape from the Holocaust, the extraordinary and miraculous journey full of intervention by many human "angels."

Documentary 2, New Life in America: Wanderings & Wonderings, the Schachter family’s passage through post-war trauma, grieving for their lost home and family, and adaptation to a new life in a new world. We discover that the same people and issues that inspired the US Civil Rights Movement and Peace Movement also shaped young Zalman himself, as well as Jewish Renewal and the global Sage-ing project that he conceived and founded.

Documentary 3, Turning Points & Paradigm Shifts, are the two major turning points that led to the Jewish Renewal and the Sage-ing movement. There is a real-life background story to Reb Zalman's well-known exercise, "The Testimonial Dinner: A Banquet for Our Severe Teachers." We will also hear about personal insights contributing to his move in 1956 which led to his 40- day retreat at age 60.

There are two ways to obtain these recordings, individually or for a group. See more information below.
