The Redistricting Process is Happening NOW in New York State
Are you Prepared to Participate?

  • Redistricting happens once every 10 years. The changes to your district that occur now will affect you and your community for a decade.

  • Changes to your community's district can affect the identity, allegiance, and political priorities of your elected representative.



The Independent Redistricting Committee (IRC) is accepting comments, testimony, and map submissions from the public until NOVEMBER 23.

Look at YOUR Community's Maps

On September 15, two versions of maps for New York’s congressional, state senate, and assembly districts were released.

The two sets of maps are titled “Letters” and “Names.”

The IRC website features an interactive map that makes it easy to understand how to proposed maps will affect you and your community.


Select a map to study using the menu to the right.

Use the +/- to zoom in/out to see detailed maps
down to street and building levels.

Use the magnifying glass tool in the left corner to open a search bar. Type in a specific address to easily view the community you want to observe.
