Open House at Signal Hill Campus

There’s a celebration happening on Signal Hill!
Memorial University is excited to open the doors of its new Signal Hill Campus to the public on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 2 – 5 p.m.
Drop in to explore the new facility anytime throughout the event, which will kick off at 2 p.m. There will be an art unveiling with live music, tours through the Emera Innovation Exchange, plenty of hands-on exhibits, and even some celebratory ice cream.
This is a free, all-ages event.

Northern Periphery & Arctic Fund - Fostering collaborations between NL and Europe

Come learn about available funding opportunities for agencies, businesses, institutions and governments in Newfoundland and Labrador through the European Union’s Northern Periphery and Arctic (NPA) Programme. The program provides funding to support collaborations across national borders to develop new and innovative solutions and projects related to innovation, entrepreneurship, energy and cultural/natural heritage. Colm McColgan, General Manager of the European ERNACT network, will describe how the program works and provide practical guidance to interested organizations.

Newfoundland and Labrador is facing an unprecedented population challenge. Without intervention, this trend will have a drastic impact on the economy, governance, and overall quality of life for the people living in the province. Planning for this change and developing strategies to adjust and adapt to the change is paramount. These and other
Population Project
reports offer recommendations to help address this challenge.

This report examines the housing environment in Central Labrador in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay cluster, which includes the communities of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, North West River and Sheshatshiu, and determines if these communities are or will be prepared for the changing housing needs and demands anticipated to 2036.

This report considers the issue of regionalization of services in Newfoundland and Labrador, to determine whether there is a case for greater regionalization and if so, how it might be applied in practice.

This report forecasts health human resource (HHR) demands associated with the next generation of seniors in the Labrador-Grenfell Health (LGH) region, and frames the outcomes within the context of general strategies for the future delivery of health care services.
|

Succession planning has gained increased attention due to the upcoming retiring cohort of baby boomer business owners. The implications for rural communities and small towns are particularly significant. This report looks at the challenges for SMEs in Labrador and the Northern Peninsula and provides recommendations to improve opportunities and assistance as it relates to succession planning.
