Hello friends,

I have been thinking a lot lately about how much our industry is changing, and in many ways, coming full circle.

After decades in public relations, from the early days of pitching stories by phone and fax to today’s digital landscape, I can honestly say this is one of the most exciting moments I have ever seen for PR. That is why I am currently working on a new book focused on what I call the Renaissance of Public Relations, sparked by artificial intelligence. At first glance, you might think AI would replace or diminish the role of PR. But in reality, the opposite is happening. AI is increasing the value of credible, trusted, human-generated content. It is prioritizing reputation, authority, and consistency in ways that align perfectly with what great public relations has always delivered.

In other words, the work we have been doing all along, building relationships, telling authentic stories, earning media coverage, and creating meaningful content, is now more important than ever. AI is not inventing truth. It is searching for it. And it is pulling that truth from sources it trusts.

That is where PR comes in.

As I work on this book, I keep coming back to a simple idea: If you want to be found in the age of AI, you must first be known. And public relations is the most powerful way to make that happen.

How To Be Found by AI Through PR

• Earn credible media coverage

AI tools prioritize trusted sources like newspapers, television, radio, and established online publications. The more you are featured in earned media, the more signals you send that you are a reliable authority.

• Distribute press releases strategically

Press releases published through reputable wire services create structured, factual content that AI can easily find, understand, and reference.

• Create a clear and concise About paragraph

Make sure your website homepage includes a strong, simple paragraph explaining who you are, what you do, and who you serve. This is exactly the type of content AI pulls into answers.

• Build out FAQs on your website

Think about the questions your ideal client would ask and answer them clearly. AI loves well-structured question and answer content.

• Show proof through case studies

Demonstrate your expertise with real examples. AI systems look for patterns of credibility, and case studies help establish that.

• Keep your messaging consistent across platforms

Your website, LinkedIn profile, and other digital channels should all reinforce the same positioning. Consistency strengthens your authority in AI search.

• Optimize your LinkedIn presence

Your LinkedIn profile is one of the most important sources AI uses. Make sure your About section, Experience, and Recommendations clearly reflect your expertise.

• Publish regularly owned content

Blog posts, articles, and insights on your own platforms give AI more material to understand your voice, expertise, and point of view.

• Leverage your network for visibility

Mentions, collaborations, and shared content from others help build your digital footprint, and AI notices those signals.

I have spent my entire career in public relations, building trusted relationships across the state, across the country and even around the world, so now I am leveraging my strong network for business and media opportunities.

This is not the end of PR. It is a powerful new beginning.

Stay tuned as I continue working on the book. I cannot wait to share more with you.

With gratitude,

Nancy Marshall

Make Yourself Easy To Find

Make sure you are easily found through both Google and AI-driven search. Take a moment to search your name or your business and see what comes up—are you showing up clearly, or is someone else with a similar name appearing instead? If you have a common name, it’s especially important to build a strong, consistent online presence so people can easily find the right you.

In today’s digital landscape, public relations is more important than ever. With AI changing the way people search for and discover information, your online visibility directly impacts your credibility and opportunities.

From your website to your social media profiles and media mentions, everything contributes to how you are represented online. Make it easy for people to find you, learn about you and trust you—because if they can’t find you, they can’t choose you.
