Renaissance Mentorship is a Win/Win
Kell Coker, a 17-year old entrepreneur, was this year's winner of The Pitch. The Pitch pairs small business owners with volunteer community business leaders to provide mentorship and guidance.

Fortunately for Kell, he was paired with Renaissance's dynamic duo, John-Michael Marlin (Director of Lending) and Jeremy Martin (Community Outreach). John-Michael and his team provide coaching and mentoring to potential and current business clients across Mississippi on a daily basis. Their experience and passion for helping entrepreneurs and small business owners comes through to their clients' success. With their guidance, Kelli won The Pitch and $5,000 for his business, Coker Hauling & Disposal.

Did You Know the Sweet Potato Capital
is Located in Mississippi?
For several generations, farm families in North MS have produced, packed and shipped sweet potatoes that come from a rich, fertile soil. The people of Vardaman have embraced their farming history, proclaiming it the "Sweet Potato Capital of the World."

446 Farms in Vardaman is Renaissance's first agricultural business loan client. We are excited to be a part of the continuing success of this multi-generational farm, focused on bringing wholesome and nutritious sweet potatoes to America's consumers as a part of the farm-to-table produce industry.

A Family With a "Strong" Goal
When Wilbert Strong began the journey towards homeownership, he didn't realize it would take three years to see his dream come through. The team at RCLF worked with Strong and his family through every stage of the process, from financial counseling, underwriting, staying in close contact through the search for the perfect home and finding additional funding for which he could qualify.

Strong received a down-payment assistance grant, which he used to reduce the amount of his mortgage and his monthly payments. With the lower monthly payment, the Strongs were able to afford furniture for their home. “Being a homeowner is the best thing that happened to me,” said Strong. “I’m so happy, and so is my family.”
Investing in Her Future Through Homeownership
Christy Bryant was ready to do more with her hard earned money than pay rent. She also wanted privacy that renting doesn’t give you, and a yard for her dog. With the real estate market skyrocketing over the summer, Bryant was having a hard time finding a home within her price range and getting approval from a lender, so her Realtor referred her to Renaissance. Our lending team was able to successfully walk her through the homebuyer process to proudly close on her new home.

Renaissance was able to help Bryant qualify for downpayment assistance with $8,500 in HELP funds and $7,000 in MRB7 funding. The $15,500 provided the downpayment she needed, and allowed her the opportunity to purchase the home of her dreams. “Being a homeowner means I am investing in my future,” said Bryant.
