Update from County of Renfrew:
Tariff Talk and THINK Local Campaign
In response to the threat of US tariffs, the County has launched a THINK Local campaign. It launched on social media today and will be pushed out digitally and in print until the end of April, at which time we will consider whether there is a need to continue. The campaign highlights ways for residents and businesses to support local and buy Canadian. As resources and supports become available for the business community, they will be added to the site also. Supporting graphics are attached to this email and we encourage you to post, share and tag using the hashtags #ShopLocal #ThinkRenfrewCounty #SupportOntarioMade #BuyCanadian
We have scheduled a virtual OVED Partners meeting for next Thursday, February 20, from 1:30-2:30pm to discuss what the County, Chamber and Renfrew County CFDC are doing. There will also be an opportunity for you to share what you are doing as a municipality and what you are hearing from your local business community.
Expand Highway 17 Campaign
The County of Renfrew has launched a campaign encouraging residents and businesses to advocate for the continued expansion of Highway 17 to local Provincial riding candidates. Information, resources and sample letters for residents and businesses are available on the County’s ZenCity page - https://renfrew-county.civilspace.io/en/projects/highway-17-expansion
Print and digital ads are appearing this week and will continue until election day. We encourage you to share the County’s post on your social channels to help spread the word or create your own using the attached graphic and linking to the ZenCity page above. Following the Provincial election, efforts will focus on lobbying the newly elected Provincial cabinet.
