HELPING HANDS MINISTRY of St. Matthew Lutheran Church & School is intended to provide critical emergency financial support. Please contact one of the Pastors if such support is needed. Contributions to this ministry are also welcome. 
Choir from Concordia St. Paul, Minnesota to sing Good Friday.
The Christus Chorus of Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota, will assist in leading the Service of Tenebrae Vespers at St. Matthew Lutheran Church & School, on Good Friday, April 19, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.
The 32-voice choir, under the direction of Dr. David L. Mennicke, will present a variety of music at appropriate times throughout the worship service. The choir is grateful for the opportunity to present some of the great music of the Church and to witness through music as an expression of faith. A freewill offering will be taken to support the music ministry of the choir.
Thrivent Dine & Meet - On Wednesday, May 1, Jaime   Davison, a member of our St. Matthew Family & Thrivent Representative will be providing a “Dine & Meet” at St. Matthew from 5:30pm-7:00pm in Luther Hall. Jaime will be providing a meal for us and at that time will be presenting a program entitled “What can Thrivent Do For St. Matthew & You”. Jaime will share all of the Thrivent Programs as well as answer any questions you may have. Please RSVP to Jaime.davison@thrivent.com or at

BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES
SUNDAY
CSI BIBLE STUDY - NO Study 4/21/19
Meets Sundays at 9:20am in Luther Hall .
Sunday morning Bible study meets at 9:20am in Krueger Hall.  EVERY ONE HIS WITNESS , this study will start April 28 and run thru June 2. 
SUNDAY SCHOOL - NO Sunday School 4/21/19
Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings at 9:20am.  Please meet in the Sunday School Wing that is located in the lower level school classrooms.
ADULT DISCIPLESHIP CLASS - THE ADULT DISCIPLESHIP CLASS WILL MEET on 4/21/19 at 9:20am.
The Adult Discipleship Class is offered for those who desire to become members of the congregation and for those who would like to review the basics of Biblical Christian teaching from the Lutheran perspective. The next class will be in the Fall of 2019.
THE YOUTH CONFIRMATION MINISTRY
THE YOUTH CONFIRMATION MINISTRY will kick off new classes in August 2019. Pre-Confirmation Classes will be held Sunday Mornings beginning in September.
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL BIBLE STUDY
This new Bible Study will meet every 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Sunday of each month from 9:20am-10:20am in the school gym. Final class is May 26, 2019. Classes will resume Fall of 2019.
MONDAY
LCC BIBLE STUDY WITH TIM HETZNER - NO BIBLE STUDY ON MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2019. “Who is Jesus According to Jesus” Bible Study is held on Monday's at 9:30am & 7:00pm in Luther Hall. Visit  www.LutheranChurchCharities.org  for more information. Classes run through June 2019.

TUESDAY EVENING LADIES BIBLE STUDY - 
Tuesdays at 7:00pm in Luther Hall. The topic is: Our Hope & Our Future: A Study of Jeremiah . All women are invited to join us.

MEN'S BIBLE STUDY - LUTHER HALL
The Proverbs Bible Study will begin at 9:00a.m.
To prepare, read chapters 14 & 15.
The Men's Bible Study will conclude for the Spring on May 18. There will be various events – fishing, golfing, grilling, etc. – throughout the summer months so stay tuned to the Church & Men’s Ministry E-Blats and the St. Matthew Website for updates.

The Gospel is simple, but the world is complex. How do we share the Good News of Jesus in today’s world? Here at St. Matthew, we want to help you be equipped, to be a more active and effective witness of Jesus by participating in Every One His Witness.

CHRISTIAN OUTREACH OF LUTHERANS (COOL) -  A food pantry for some of the neediest families in Lake County. Please bring a can of food/box of cereal with you when you worship and place them in Luther Hall. Thanks for helping those in need. April food item: Juice or Powdered Milk

JOURNEYS OF PAUL IN GREECE - October 5-15, 2019  
Pastor Timothy Kinne and his wife Debra, from St. Matthew Lutheran Church & School, Hawthorn Woods, invite you to join them on a magnificent tour of the Journeys of Paul in Greece, October 5-15, 2019.
2020 EUROPEAN TRIP & OBERAMMERGAU is an 11 Day Classic Classic European Tour (September 20-30, 2020) which will include Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Nurnberg, Rothenburg, Heidleberg, a Rhine River Cruise, the Neuschwanstein Castle and culminating in Oberammergau for the 2020 production of the Passion Play.

This week our Emerging Skills and Interests were: Celebrating Easter. The Letter of the Week was "W" and was also the letter theme for Show & Share. In Religious Studies, the preschoolers learned about Holy Week.
