Dear valued partners and friends,
Greetings from the Maldives!
When I first moved to the atolls, I assumed paradise meant perfection — blue water, powder-soft sand, villas floating above the sea.
But one morning at the Shambhala Retreat in COMO Maalifushi, I learned something different.
I was walking barefoot before sunrise when I saw a travellers sitting alone on the yoga pavilion, facing the horizon. No phone. No camera. Just breathing. When I asked if she’d like a photo, she smiled and said,
“I don’t want to remember this moment. I want to feel it.”
It stopped me.
Because that’s what wellness becomes here — not a treatment on a schedule, but the moment where time slows down and something inside you unclenches. It’s awakened — by the ocean, by stillness, by space to finally hear yourself again.
And every time I watch an explorer arrive tense and leave lighter, I’m reminded: paradise isn’t a backdrop. It’s a catalyst. Let me share with you my personal experience.
Hih'heyo kollaathi, happy travels!
Yours,
Howard
