Welcome The Rev. Ann B. Shamy

This Sunday we welcome to worship guest preacher, the Rev. Ann B. Shamy. Ann, a Minister of the Word and Sacrament of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), serves as Staff Chaplain for Pediatrics and Perinatal Services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, and for Children’s Specialized Hospital at Mountainside and in New Brunswick. She is clergyperson for the SIDS Center of New Jersey. Ann and her husband John reside in Somerset; they have three adult children and a seven-year old granddaughter and three-year old grandson.

Fun fact: Rev. Shamy was once a member of the LPC congregation; she was also their beloved church administrator. In 2005, Ann was involved in the hiring process of her replacement--Regina. If you don't already know Ann, please be sure to say hello and introduce yourself.

In music this Sunday,  come and listen to Music Director, Jim Goldsworthy, play pieces by Robert Schumann featuring a special piano solo. Hope to see you at our 10:15AM worship service!

Bats in the belfry-- Humphrey's Insect & Rodent Control installing bat netting!

Having bats in the belfry is not unusual for many churches. Since it is illegal though to kill bats in the state of New Jersey, taking care of an infestation is a delicate and tricky situation that requires a professional. To remedy a bat problem nets are installed to allow the bats to leave but prevent them from re-entering--thus encouraging them to relocate to a new home.
