Milstein Family Foundation Newsletter
Dear Friends,

America is facing a crisis. Antisemitism is moving from the fringes to the mainstream. The Milstein Family Foundation is proud to support several organizations who have joined together to endorse The New Antisemites report that uncovers how the delegitimization campaign against Israel — promoted by the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS) — radicalizes hate groups in the United States and encourages violence and Jew-hatred.

Also in our newsletter read Adam's latest op-ed on the innovative approach to fight the new antisemitism. He outlines how the multi-network collaboration model drives maximum impact in this critical battle.

We invite you to learn about Stand By Me . Under Gila's leadership, the organization provides care and services to Israeli-American cancer patients and their families in Los Angeles, making sure that no one in our community faces cancer alone. For more ways to get involved, please visit their  website .

We are proud to support initiatives that are going on the offensive against antisemitism. Last month, the StandWithUs International Conference supported by our Foundation – focused on educating students leaders about rising antisemitism. Adam addressed over 500 student leaders on the tangible steps they can take to combat it.

We are also excited to introduce the Impact Forum , a Los Angeles-based network of philanthropists who support small yet impactful network of non-profit organizations that do exceptional work to fight antisemitism, strengthen the State of Israel, and champion American values.

Finally, we feature Zachor Legal Institute , the co-author of The New Antisemites report. A legal think tank and advocacy organization, that produces legal scholarship and engages in activism to combat antisemitism and the delegitimization of Israel in governmental, commercial and campus environments.

With sincere love and admiration for the State of Israel and the Jewish people,

Gila and Adam Milstein
The Revolutionary New Approach to Fight the New Antisemitism
Multi-network collaboration creates a new model of philanthropy
Too many of these responses to Jew-hatred are reactionary and risk-averse. We must invest in new and unique approaches to fight antisemitism in the same way venture capitalists and startups find innovative solutions to dynamic and developing challenges. To do so, we must go on the offensive, think outside the box, fund and use cutting-edge research, and create collaborative models that drive dynamic impact. The multi-network collaboration model offers such solution as well as other enemies of the Jewish people, invest billions in spreading antisemitism. It’s time to go on the offensive, think outside the box, fund and use cutting-edge research, and create collaborative models that drive dynamic impact.

Under the banner “Israel in Focus,” this year’s StandWithUs (SWU) International Conference focused on educating students about antisemitism and how to fight it. The conference was held over the Jan. 17-19 weekend, and was sponsored by the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation.

Over 500 student leaders from around the world, including from the UK, Germany, Israel, South America, and Canada, participated in the conference.

The Impact Forum: A Los Angeles-Based 'Silver Bullet' Network
Adam Milstein, a Steering Committee member of the Impact Forum, speaks to a gathering in Los Angeles.
The Impact Forum is an innovative philanthropic model that encourages multi-network collaboration between philanthropists and organizations to produce maximum impact for a shared cause of pro-Israel activism. Donors leverage their combined philanthropic strength to support each other’s initiatives, collaborate, and empower a network of small- and mid-size nonprofit organizations—each punching substantially above their weight—to fight antisemitism, strengthen the State of Israel and advance the U.S.-Israel alliance .

Since its establishment in 2017 by a group of Los Angeles philanthropists, the Impact Forum has raised more than $3.1 million for nearly 50 organizations.

Zachor Legal Institute
Zachor Legal Institute is an organization using the law to combat antisemitism and the delegitimization of Israel. Our working relationship with the Milstein Family Foundation, combined with the support from the Impact Forum, are absolutely critical to our successes and accomplishments.

We are delighted to announce that in January 2020, the Department of Education (DoE) launched an investigation based upon a Title VI complaint brought by Zachor concerning harassment and discrimination targeting Jewish students at UCLA.

We informed the DoE's Office of Civil Rights of antisemitic events that occurred on the UCLA campus as a result of the university hosting the anti-Israel Students for Justice in Palestine national conference in 2018.

This might be the game-changer we’ve been striving for. Our hope is that this investigation will cause public universities nationwide to determine that it is finally time to rein in the student groups that create environments of harassment for Jewish students.
MFF is proud to support Zachor Legal Institute.
