Become A WALPA Sponsor Today!

At Washington State Lake Protection Association, it is our mission to allow diverse interests to speak with one voice to protect lakes. Since WALPA is run by a voluntary board 100% of your sponsorship dues will go towards this mission.

Sponsorship is the primary means of fundraising for WALPA to support our basic operating budget (insurance, non-profit registration, website, etc.) and our annual conference. Any additional funds raised support student scholarships, reduced conference rates for students and ongoing programs such as our regional conferences for lake communities.

As many of our members are likely aware, WALPA is currently facing some difficult times financially. WALPA is able to pursue our mission because of the generosity and support of our sponsors and members! We value all contributions and provide a number of benefits to becoming a WALPA sponsor. Sponsorship is active for the calendar year it is received [sign up here], so the earlier in the year you become a sponsor the more benefits you'll receive! Current 2024 sponsors will receive a 30% discount on their 2025 sponsorship! (Reach out to treasurer@walpa.org for your discount code.)

Sponsorship has its benefits:

  1. Advertising: Company logo on WALPA's website, newsletter article (Waterline) and logo in publications (Waterline and Ripple), acknowledgement of sponsorship in email announcements to the membership.
  2. NetworkingConference exhibitor booth, opportunities for conference event sponsorship and presentation to attendees.
  3. VisibilityWALPA makes every effort to highlight our sponsors during our online Western WA lakes Workshop (see story below!) and the annual in-person meeting.

Your sponsorship fee and donation is also tax-deductible as WALPA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Giving has never been easier as you can now donate and become a WALPA sponsor online through Zeffy. Read more about what benefits you'll receive on our website! Thank you for supporting our mission, together we can make a difference for our lakes.

WALPA Updates

What else is going on with WALPA? News from the Board and more!

  • Save the Date! WALPA's Annual Conference will be October 8th through October 10th in Moses Lake, Washington. Stay tuned for our Call for Abstracts and more details!

  • Do you have cool items or equipment, and love supporting WALPA and students? Donate to our Annual Conference's silent auction and raffle! With a diverse membership, any contribution will be appreciated and put to great use! WALPA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so funds from our annual raffle directly support student scholarships, research, and outreach efforts. Please reach out! We appreciate you!

  • The 2025 Annual Early Career Panel was a spring success! (See photo below) This year marked the first time the panel was held during the spring semester, drawing over 60 registrants. We really appreciated how engaged the student attendees were. Clark, the panel facilitator, prepared over a dozen questions for the panelists but asked only one, as the microphone was handed over to attendees who asked the questions that mattered most to them. Thank you again to everyone who joined us—and a big shout out to Ty Stephenson for organizing the event and to our panelists: Nikki VandePutte, Katie Ewen, Meghan Bugaj, Dash Paulson, and Dr. Kaitlyn Campbell!
