Beautiful Green Home for Rent & Caretaking
We are looking for a capable and caring couple, individual or small family to help look after our 30-acre homestead in southwest Stoddard (13 miles/25 minutes from Keene). There are two residences on the property; the Barn residence will be available in November, 2022. The Barn is a two-bedroom apartment occupying two floors of a three-story post-and-beam barn. The apartment is sunny and bright, super-insulated, with all wood floors, laundry, and access to a workshop and garage. Both homes are surrounded by gardens, fields and thousands of acres of forested conservation land. The buildings are powered by sun, wind and wood, with some propane and grid power imported. The land offers trails, woods, a pristine lake, and solitude, and invites gardening, farming, and small livestock production.
Tenant-caretakers help in the care of grounds, homes, 1/2 mile driveway, firewood production, snow removal, and trails. Monthly rent is 20 hours’ work plus $850 per month including most utilities. High speed wireless internet available. Pets negotiable. Successful human inhabitants will have enthusiasm and skills for remote rural living, a commitment to energy conservation, and a love of nature.
For more information, call Bob or Annie at 603-352-3444 (landline with voicemail; no texts) or e-mail annefaulkner62@gmail.com.
