Dear Heilicher Parents,

What a year it has been! From our first day last September helping students get accustomed to the many new and unfamiliar COVID protocols, to the preparations today for the warmest 8th grade graduation on record, this year has truly been a roller coaster. Yet through it all, our students have continued to learn, grow and thrive!

We can’t thank you enough for the flexibility you have shown throughout this school year. We all learned together how to operate a school during a pandemic, and we are proud that our families and staff quickly accommodated changes throughout the year. I am so very proud of our Heilicher community.

Please join us for closing ceremonies tomorrow (Thursday, June 10) from 8:45-9:30 a.m. as we put an official “wrap” on the school year. A reminder, as well, that dismissal tomorrow for grades K-7 is at 11:30 a.m.

The next few months are a time to refresh and renew. We hope that you all have a happy, healthy and relaxing summer break, and we will see you back at school on Monday, August 30.

Peer Class Placement Forms - 2021-22 School Year
(students entering Grades 1-5)

Heilicher recognizes that peer relationships are important for children as they build social and emotional connections as well as find academic peers from school year to school year. While Heilicher makes no promises regarding class placement, we value the parental perspective and the lens it offers our team as we work on balanced class placements.

If you would like to provide your perspective on peer class placements for your child, please fill out this Peer Class Placement Form by Tuesday, June 15, for each of your children ENTERING grades 1 through 5. Please fill out one form per child. This form is NOT required.
Grades 5-8 Summer Reading

Summer break is a wonderful opportunity to relax, travel, camp, play, and, of course, READ!

Please see the summer reading assignments for rising fifth graders.

Please see the summer reading assignments for the rising sixth graders.

The Heilicher summer reading list for rising seventh and eighth graders can be found here along with the reading assignment.
Summer Office Hours

Heilicher Summer Office Hours (June and August) are Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The office will be closed from July 5-30. However, voicemail will continue to be retrieved and distributed Monday-Thursday during the entire summer.

Initial FAQs for the 2021-22 School Year

We are well into our planning for the 2021-22 school year. While there is much that is still in process, we wanted to provide you with an initial set of FAQs speaking to issues such as our school schedule, co-curricular programming, hot lunch, and COVID-related policies and procedures. This is only the first of a set of communications that we plan to send out throughout the summer.

If you have any specific questions regarding the FAQs included here, please feel free to reach out to Maia Poling, or, if your question is COVID-related, to our school nurse Katie RuffThey will either respond directly or refer your question to the best person to give you the information that you need.
