Announcement of Head of School Transition

Head of School Yoni Binus announced this week that the 2021-22 school year will be his last at the school. Read more about Yoni's departure and the school's plans for next year from him and Board President Wendy Lovell-Smith here.

Sign Up Now for Virtual Spring Conferences!

Heilicher Virtual Spring Conferences will be held on:
  • Thursday, March 11, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Friday, March 12, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. 


Use this link to sign up for Spring conference times. Zoom links will be sent closer to the time of conferences. If you have students in grades K-6, please make sure to sign up with your child(ren)'s General Studies, Hebrew, Judaic Studies and Specialist teachers. A change from past year: parents of students in grades 7-8 should sign up for 10-minute conferences with each of their child(ren's) teachers.

If you are signing up for conferences with more than one teacher or signing up for conferences for multiple children, be sure to look for the “Register for Multiple Conferences” button to help coordinate your times. 

Grades K-2 Conferences are PARENTS ONLY.
Grades 3-8 Conferences should involve both parents and children.

Minimester 7 TDLP Signup Deadline is Friday, March 19

Enrollment for Minimester 7 (April 5 - April 30) of the Total Distance Learning Program (TDLP) is now open! All families currently enrolled in TDLP, and families who would like to enroll in TDLP for the first time, must complete the following form in order to officially opt-in. TDLP enrollment will be on a minimester basis for the remainder of the school year. 

In order to ensure your student's enrollment in TDLP for Minimester 7, you must complete the form by 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 19. Any families who have not completed this form by March 19 will be automatically enrolled in in-person learning at Heilicher. Students may not opt-in OR opt-out of TDLP outside of the enrollment deadline.

2021-22 Admissions Application Update

We currently have 34 applications for kindergarten next year! We are still accepting applications so please help spread the word.

We are hosting a virtual admissions event for prospective kindergarten families on Tuesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. If you know a family that is interested in Heilicher, please email Louise Schoenberger and she will reach out with details.
Pesach Purge

Cleaning for Pesach? Is the warm weather putting you in the mood for spring cleaning? We are looking to collect new (in package) games, toys, puzzles, etc. for the birthday closet at PRISM - a food shelf in Golden Valley. Please have your child bring donations directly to their classroom by Wednesday, March 17.

STEP and PRISM are also seeking Kosher for Pesach food donations. Please bring items to school by Wednesday, March 17, and we'll get it to STEP or PRISM in time for Pesach.
Drop Off Reminders

As a reminder, Heilicher drop-off is from 8:00-8:30 a.m.

If you miss this drop-off window, please park at the bottom of the parking lot and wait until 9:00 a.m. to drive up to the north entrance. Please call the office at 952.381.3500 and let them know you are here, and someone will come downstairs to walk your child up to class.

A Message from Nurse Katie

If you are considering spring travel, please be especially thoughtful and cautious of your decision as it increases your family’s chance of getting COVID-19. All travel is discouraged, but if you have to travel, please follow all the CDC guidelines.

You do not have to quarantine after domestic travel but mandatory testing and quarantine are required for international travel. Please remember, being vaccinates does not allow you to decrease precautions in any way. As a reminder, please use the Heilicher Communications Center to notify the office of upcoming travel or absences.
