The Power of Words ...
Heilicher sixth grader Mia Wolfe is a finalist for The Pulitzer Center's national 2020 Local Letters for Global Change contest. Mia wrote a letter to Senator Klobuchar about the internment of Uigher and Muslim people in China. Mia says, "I chose to write about this issue because I learned about it through social media. I saw an article there, and thought it was important to share."
We are very proud of Mia for her incredible work and her commitment to social justice. Read her letter to Senator Klobuchar here.

Upcoming School Events
Monday, February 15- Friday, February 19: Mid-Winter Break
THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE:
There will be a Heilicher Parent Town Hall on Tuesday, February 2, at 7:00 p.m., to hear about our plans for next school year, including a number of exciting new initiatives. Yoni will be sharing information on how we are continuing to adapt to COVID, including our approach to vaccines, extra-curricular activities, and a variety of other topics. He also will provide updates on Heilicher's financial position and our planning for the school's strong, long-term future.
This Town Hall is for both current and prospective parents, and will include a presentation followed by a Q&A. Yoni will facilitate the Q&A for current parents. The Q&A for prospective parents will be held in a separate "Zoom Breakout Room" to which they will be directed after Yoni's presentation, and will be facilitated by Maia Poling.
RSVP to Diane Greenberger by noon on Monday, February 1, if you plan on attending. We encourage at least one family member per household to attend.
Wear a funny hat to school on Friday, February 12, in honor of the month in which we celebrate Purim!

Reporting Planned Travel During Midwinter Break
As we approach Midwinter Break, please remember to use the
Heilicher Communications Center to report your travel. At this time, we are not asking families to quarantine after domestic travel, but we ask that you fill out the form before your trip so Nurse Katie can follow up with each family as needed.
