Fink Family Benefit 2020
Heilicher to Honor Nancy and Neil Fink at 2020 Annual Benefit

The 2020 Heilicher Annual Benefit is set for Thursday, March 19, 2020 , and we are pleased to announce that we will be honoring Heilicher parents and community leaders Neil and Nancy Fink. We are also thrilled that their parents will serve as Honorary Co-Chairs of the event: Bruce Fink and Caren Page, Randy and Anne Klein, and Marilyn Sudit.

In 2020, Heilicher will also celebrate its 36th (Double Chai) year. In honor of this milestone, our benefit theme will be: This is Our Story: Celebrating 36 Years of Heilicher . This focus invites Heilicher parents, grandparents, alumni parents, alumni, students, and faculty and staff past and present to reflect and share their own Heilicher stories as we recognize over three decades of our school's incredible history.

For more information, and to become a Benefit sponsor, visit the 2020 Heilicher Annual Benefit page of our website.

If your child is interested in participating in the Heilicher Choir, please register your child using the Choir Form by tomorrow, Friday, September 13. The choir practices once per week during recess. Rehearsals begin the week of September 16. Sign up today!
Biking Permission Form

Fall is a great time to get outside and bike before the snow starts to fall. Please note the biking guidelines and complete the Biking Permission Form, if your student is in grades 5-8. Grades K-4 students may only bike to/from school with a parent/guardian. Grades 5-8 students may bike to/from school unaccompanied, if Heilicher has received written authorization from the parent/guardian on the Biking Permission Form. On the Barry Family Campus, students are expected to walk their bikes and properly lock them on bicycle racks.

Grade 5-6 bikers must go to the Heilicher dining room for dismissal, so they can be walked out.  Parents of grade 5-6 bikers need to inform the school by phone or send an email to the Front Desk by 12 p.m. on days that the student is biking home.
Family Directory

Each school year we create an all-school directory of Heilicher families. In order to ensure that we have accurate information, please log in to Sycamore to confirm your family profile is correct. If you have edits, you are able to make them directly on your family profile. Please use the step-by-step instructions to complete this data review by Monday, September 16. Any changes needed after that date will not be included in the printed student directory.

At the same time, through Sycamore, we are requesting that all families fill out a current Health History Form for each of their students. This is not a form that needs to be provided by a doctor's office. It is just a recap of your student(s) health from year to year, so we have current and pertinent information enabling us to provide a safe and effective learning environment.

Please reach out to the Heilicher Office with any questions.

All-School Mock Election

Last year on April 9, Heilicher held a mock Israeli election.  Next week, along with Israel, we will hold another election, since Israel's leading party did not succeed in forming a government.  We will limit our school election to choosing between the only two parties that are large enough to have a chance to form a government: Likud and Kachol Lavan. We are excited to find out the results!
Grades 4-8 Band Registration

The 88 Notes Concert Bands (formerly Encore Ensembles) is leading Heilicher's band program this year. Students in grades 4-8 are invited to join band, no prior music experience required. Mr. Sean Prichard is returning to teach lessons and direct the bands. Fourth-grade students will have an opportunity to meet Mr. Prichard and try out instruments during music class on September 9. Registration is due by September 20. Band lessons will begin Wednesday, October 2, and Thursday, October 3. Feel free to contact Mr. Prichard with any questions.
