Get a sneak peek inside the Library's newest special exhibit. FDR's Final Campaign immerses visitors in the final momentous months of President Roosevelt's life and presidency. Featuring rarely seen documents, photos, film and artifacts it explores FDR's vision for the future of his nation and the world – and the campaign he undertook to secure it. At the center of that vision was the creation of the United Nations organization.

In the summer of 1940, as Republicans and Democrats would hold their conventions in preparation for the November, the war in Europe threatened to destroy freedom around the world. Massachusetts Professor of Humanities at Williams College Susan Dunn talks about the election amid the storm.

On April 24, 2017, the FDR Library formally launched a curatorial pathfinding initiative named in honor of Henry Morgenthau, Jr., FDR’s friend, advisor, Cabinet member, and head of the War Refugee Board. Morgenthau, whose incredible Papers and Diaries are part of the Library’s archival collection, was a key moral voice for the Roosevelt Administration.

The new Peter S. Kalikow Digital Scholarship Hub shares historical open data with the public, in the form of a customized, universal index to the Morgenthau's Diaries.

The Roosevelt Institute and the FDR Presidential Library & Museum partnered to host an international, public-facing conference that brought together an interdisciplinary group of scholars, archivists, students, filmmakers, and the public to engage in critical discourse on the future of primary sources for Holocaust research. Information and recordings of all 15 sessions are now available on the FDR Library website.

This one-day conference in November, 2021,  co-hosted with the Jewish Federation of Dutchess County, was tailored specifically to middle and high school teachers, informing them of new and free-to-use resources to educate their students about the Holocaust and history in general. Subjects covered civic engagement, ideologies that led to the Holocaust, approaches to impactful and thoughtful learning, and how learning about the Holocaust provides a means to build critical thinking skills. The sessions were recorded and live on the FDR website.

Investigating the Holocaust is a 14-part video series created from the documentary Nuremberg: Its Lesson for Today with an accompanying curriculum guide.

The series tracks the rise of Nazism and the onset of World War II, culminating with the convictions from the first Nuremberg Trial. It has been viewed nearly 700,000 times since its release.

This instructional model of the PRINZ EUGEN was constructed by Wataru Ichinotsubo at the Gila River Relocation Center in Arizona. Ichinotsubo and approximately 10,000 other people of Japanese descent were incarcerated at the camp during World War II. Eleanor Roosevelt visited the Gila River camp on April 23, 1943. During her visit, workers in the shop presented her with this model and asked her to give it to President Roosevelt.

The anniversary of Franklin’s birth became a great cause for celebration every year, and throughout his life FDR would use the occasion to honor devoted friends as well as to raise money in the fight against polio.
