Call for Presenters: TR Institute

The 2019 Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Institute (TRI) offers educational programs for attendees who are therapeutic recreation specialists and activity coordinators. The TRI will be held June 5-6, 2019 at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, Lancaster, PA. View the session topics and submit the session proposal form by Friday,  February 15, 2019.

The PA Urban Parks & Recreation Alliance

The Pennsylvania Urban Parks and Recreation Alliance helps urban areas increase the effectiveness of their own essential public services of parks, recreation and green connectivity that stimulate economic growth, foster social stability and enhance environmental quality.
 
The Alliance, comprised of citizen volunteers, conducts educational programs, trains community leaders, and promotes public policy that offers solutions to real community issues.
 
The Alliance is seeking new leadership team members to serve on its Advocacy, Education, Communications, and Funding Committees. Meetings are held via phone conference on first Mondays of each month at 2:30 pm. Those with interest may consult www.goodforpa.com/urban  and contact Tim Herd for more information.

Is Your Agency Gold Medal Worthy?

Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Gold Medal Awards, the Oscars for parks and recreation. The National Gold Medal Award honors communities throughout the United States that demonstrate excellence in long-range planning, resource management and innovative approaches to delivering superb park and recreation services with fiscally sound business practices.

The online application consists of 25 questions broken into two components - questions 1-10 are essay questions and 11-25 focus on statistical data - which all applicants must complete by March 29. Apply for the 2019 Gold Medal Awards today!

It's time to renew your Membership!
 
Follow these 3 easy steps:
  1. Logon to prps.org.
  2. Sign in, click on your name in the top right corner of the website to view your profile, membership status, invoices, registrations, and groups.
  3. Click on the orange Renew Now button on your profile page to add the invoice to your shopping cart and checkout. You can also view a printable version of your invoice by clicking on the Accounting tab on your profile.
Please note: If you are logging in for the first time, please click on  Sign In, select "I don't know my username," and enter your email address. You will receive an email with your username and a link for setting your password.
