We're about to start a new year. That's usually a time for new beginnings and anticipation. This year, we'll start in COVID lockdown, with the increased pain that all small businesses are feeling at this time. We are anxiously awaiting the widespread distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, but our incoming president has already warned that distribution may be delayed.
California has announced some small business grants, starting 12/30/2020. Please visit www.careliefgrant.com for information. And, with the latest version of the Federal COVID relief, there may be more funds available to small businesses, too. Stay tuned for more information.
I encourage you to support each other, do what you can do to be safe, avoid gatherings, and maintain your "social distancing" practices. Let's be hopeful that the vaccine doses come to our hospitals and doctors sooner than later, and we can all get our inoculations early in the year so we can get back to what we used to consider normal by mid-year.
In the meantime, please support your local businesses - take out from local restaurants, shopping from the local businesses that have weathered the storm, and saying hello when you get a chance. Most of all, on behalf of the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I wish each of you a happy, healthy, safe, and fruitful new year. G'bye 2020!
President, Saratoga Chamber of Commerce
