St. Mary's Catholic School Annual Appeal
A Legacy of Growing and Giving
St. Mary's is Growing!
For the second year in a row,
St. Mary's Catholic School has achieved the highest percent enrollment growth in the Diocese of Austin!
With a 24% increase in enrollment this fall and a 96% retention rate, our families, community, and fellow private schools all recognize that St. Mary's is an extraordinary place where students are formed in the pursuit of wisdom and virtue as they live a life centered daily on Christ.

The oldest private school in the county, we currently serve 175 students in grades PK3-8th from 22 zip codes. Our regional and local impact is outstanding, as our students move on to high school with deep faith, a heart for service, and an excellent academic foundation. Just in the past three years, four St. Mary's graduates have become valedictorian of their high school class.
Return to our "Classical" Roots
In keeping with our Dominican roots, St. Mary's returns to the rigor of classical education methods...
"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." (Aristotle). When St. Mary’s was founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1896, we educated in the classical Catholic tradition -- deep analytical thinking, well-rounded in the fine arts, music, and physical education, well-read in the great books of the western civilization, and strong character formation. After training this summer in Nashville and Washington D.C, the St. Mary's faculty is currently restoring the rigor of these "classical" methods in the classroom through:
  • TRUTH, BEAUTY, and VIRTUE in all learning and character formation
  • History, Literature, and Religion taught cohesively, and rooted in the story of God's creation and salvation of man
  • Classic literature and novel studies
  • Study of original writings of the greatest scientists, historians, and philosophers of Western civilization
  • Formal Logic and Latin
  • Socratic discussions
  • Active learning experiences that are integrated with technology, mathematics, science, and the local community environment
As our students are challenged with these deeper and more meaningful methods of learning, we look forward to our continuing "classical" journey -- and we invite YOU to join us!
