Looking back at some of

the places the SRC Walking Club visited

The SRC Walking Club have visited so many different places and trails. The Walking Club provides such an important benefit to our Senior population.

  • Why is it important to walk in groups? It's a great social activity. Going for a brisk walk with a group is a form of socializing, which is essential for good health. Socializing helps stave off isolation and loneliness, which are associated with heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, depression, chronic stress, and premature death. So many of us have made friends and we all look forward to our next walk.

  • Is walking good for anxiety? Walking provides the best of both worlds. It offers the physical benefits of exercise while also boosting your emotional well-being. In fact, walking regularly can help ease symptoms related to chronic mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. You can walk anywhere without equipment or a special membership.
