May 27, 2020
Dear Parents,

First and foremost, I would like to thank every parent and especially all STS students that transitioned from on campus learning to E-learning seamlessly and did a remarkable job in doing so. I know the task was not an easy one for families, students and yes, our dedicated teachers and staff too! To say the very least, it's been a wild and unprecedented last few weeks of our school year and it is time to begin thinking forward to a brand new school year. It is surreal and very hard to believe that this school year is coming to an end and that summer is fast approaching! Now it is time to prepare and be ready for the upcoming 2020-21 school year that will be here in just a short couple of months.

I also would like to welcome our new 2020-21 families to our school community! Thank you for choosing St. Theresa School for your child(ren)'s education. We look forward to seeing you in August! As always, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions that you or your child may have.

Below is important information you will need and to be ready to go for the upcoming school year. As we indicated in our last Parent Update , the situation for the fall is fluid. Please be sure you are on top of your emails from us during the summer months as we define what the fall will look like. In the mean time, please keep praying!

Much more information is to come, but this is a general overview. Please make note of some special key due dates. Please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Soby i n the school office if you have any questions and she will be happy to assist you!

Parent To Do List
A comprehensive list is prepared below of all the things that need to get done in preparation for the start of the 2020-21 school year.

Bus Transportation Form DUE THIS FRIDAY, MAY 29!
Complete this form to request bus service to and/or from school in 2020-21 for each child.  This form must be filled out on-line for each child that will be riding a bus and submitted by  Friday, May 29, 2020 . Failure to request a bus route by May 29 will result in not having bus service in August! We cannot accept late bus requests beyond the due date. Please note that you only need to complete this form if you are requesting bus service. If you are NOT requesting bus service, please do not complete this form!

Class Placement
You will be notified of your child's homeroom placement via an email from your child's new homeroom teacher on Friday, May 29 at 3:00 pm.

Moving Up Day will be held on June 2 on Google Meet. The link to your child's Meet will be included in their placement email.

Teachers and staff are very excited to meet you and are looking forward to a great new school year at STS! Please never hesitate to reach out to your child(ren)'s new teacher with any questions that you or your child(ren) may have.

Reminder about keeping our children safe:
All volunteers who have contact with students at school or at school-related activities, including class activities, lunch duty, coaching, chaperone field trips, etc. must complete VIRTUS certification and a criminal background check. Each year, all adults must also complete a DCFS CANTS form and a Code of Conduct acknowledgement form.  These will be available at Preschool orientation and Curriculum Night in August.

No adult will be allowed contact with students unless s/he is in complete compliance with this policy so we encourage you to complete these steps prior to the start of school in August! All forms and links are on the  STS Website-Parent tab   and  VIRTUS Training   and are due by "Curriculum Night" on August 18.
