May 27, 2022

Dear Parents,

St. Theresa School is in full swing planning mode for the 2022-23 school year. For those of you new to the STS community, welcome! We are glad you will be joining our school family and community and look forward to an exciting, rigorous, and hopefully very normal new school year.

This email is known as the "May Mailing." It contains key information and paperwork for the start of the school year in August. You will need to stay on top of this information throughout the summer so you are in the loop and ready to go in August. For your convenience, everything in this email is also linked in the STS Digital Backpack on the website.

Please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Enza Soby in the school office if you have any questions and she will be happy to assist you!

Parent To Do List
A comprehensive list is prepared below of all the things that need to get done in preparation for the start of the 2022-23 school year.

Bus Transportation Form
As of May 27 we do not have accessible busing. We continue to aggressively pursue this service within our school hours. Please complete the bus request as normal so we have a clear picture of what our needs are for next year.

BUS REQUESTS ARE DUE FRIDAY, JUNE 3! Please complete this form to advise us of your interest in bus service to and/or from school in 2022-23. This form must be filled out on-line for each child and submitted by Friday, June 3, 2022. Late bus requests cannot not be accepted. If you are NOT requesting bus service, please do not complete this form.

Class Placement and Moving Up Day
Class placements for grades K-8 will be distributed to students on Friday, June 3. If you are new to St. Theresa School next year, your letter will be sent by U.S. Mail. Preschool placements will be assigned in August.

Moving Up Day for students is June 6 from 8:30-8:45 am for rising grades K-8. If you are new to STS next year, you should have received an email invite and have RSVPed to Mrs. Kolbus. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Kolbus.

Calendar
The 2022-23 calendar is live on the website and on School Rush.

SchoolRush
School Rush is a communication app that our school uses as a tool to communicate important information to parents. Information/messages are usually sent via text, app messages, emails and/or voicemail. New families please stay tuned in August for an invite to join School Rush with step by step instructions. See link below.

Uniforms
School uniforms are available online from Dennis Uniform.

Please order from Dennis Uniforms EARLY to get your child's uniform(s) in time for August. Many items are already backordered 6-8 weeks so you need to get your order in.

Gym uniforms and Spiritwear are available on the STS online store. Please place orders by Friday, August 5, 2022 to guarantee delivery to homerooms on Curriculum Night.

Fleece jackets are available through Dennis Uniform and should be ordered through their website.

Some reminders:
  • Green polos must be dark/hunter green, not kelly/Notre Dame green
  • Socks must be cuffable and come up the ankle (no "no shows")

The Used Uniform Room will be open to find and exchange uniform parts - watch for information coming from the Parents Association about that opportunity.

Summer Study
Summer Study this year returns to more normal requirements including summer reading and summer math. Your child will receive his/her summer reading requirements on Moving Up Day. They are also linked below and can be found on the website.

If you would like to make changes to your payment plan, all accounts must be updated no later than June 15th. Please remember that if you have an eighth grader or your only child is in Preschool, your final payment is due in May. Please contact Mrs. Schwarzbeck with any questions.

After School S.T.E.P. (St. Theresa Extended Day Program) Registration is closed. AM Registration for preschoolers with older siblings is open. Please continue to watch for any updates regarding S.T.E.P. registrations. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Pfaller.

The link above connects you to the information on medical form requirements which include, physical examinations, dental examinations and immunization requirements.

Kindergarten and 6th Graders: All entering kindergarten and 6th grade students must have the required immunization, physical, and other medical forms submitted to the nurse by August 24.

Second graders: must have a dental exam form submitted submitted to the nurse by August 24.

All students new to St. Theresa School: must have the proper medical and dental forms for their grade submitted to the nurse by August 24.

Also, new students must turn in an Emergency Form to Mrs. Montrie. Click here for this form.

Students may not attend school until these forms have been submitted to the nurse. 5th Graders and New Middle Schoolers
If your child is entering Grade 5 and/or you have a new student entering Grades 5 thru 8, please read this important letter that requests a parent's permission for the Archdiocese of Chicago to share your child and family's information to local Catholic High Schools. Please click here to read the letter. If you DO NOT give the Archdiocese of Chicago permission, please sign the 2nd page of the form and return to Mrs. Enza Soby by August 24.

School Supplies ONLINE ORDERS DUE BY JUNE 12
K-8th grade students can order supply kits online or purchase the supplies on your own. There are no preorder kits for preschool - parents must purchase these supplies on their own.

Order your supply kit online by June 12. Our School ID Code is STT063

If you wish to purchase your supplies on your own, click on the link below for the master list.

Door Numbers
STS often refers to Door numbers and questions about which door number is where. Click here for a visual/map of our Door numbers and their locations!

Volunteering - Keeping our Children Safe
All volunteers must complete all the Protecting God's Children compliance requirements.

If you are new to St. Theresa or have not volunteered yet, please follow the below link and complete each requirement.

If you volunteered this year and were told you were fully compliant, you only need to complete a new CANTS form as well as the Archdiocesan Standards of Behavior form.

Please feel free to contact Mrs. Schwarzbeck with any questions.
