Coon's Zoo Gets Visitors
Sonoma Wildlife Center hosts Sassarini students
It was a wild day for two Sassarini classes when they recently visited the Sonoma Wildlife Center. Ms. Schmitz' Kindergarten class and their 5th grade "buddies" in Ms. Henion's class made slithery and feathered friends as they learned about life in the wild, including camouflage adaptations and the harmful effects of albinism in nature.

Thank you to Sonoma Wildlife Center Director Elisha Coon and the Sonoma Valley High School science class student teachers!

Adele Writers' fables come to life at Prestwood

Adele Harrison Middle School students from Ms. Gruenhagen’s and Mr. Wanous’s classes wrote and performed, with the aid of cleverly constructed puppets, their original fables at Prestwood Elementary School. The audiences of preschool through fifth graders were delighted with the dramatic performances of the Adele students. As one admirer remarked, “Do it again!”

Students from the Adele Harrison Middle School Writing Center, under the direction of teachers Regina Mellinger and Kathy Eschleman, created Land of Fables, which will be published soon. The Sonoma Valley Education Foundation is proud to make the Writing Center possible.
