Kabballah & the Enneagram with Rabbi David
NOVEMBER 7 and 21 continuing on through the year
This Saturday and then following Torah study throughout the year, we’ll have an opportunity to delve into the world of Jewish mysticism, or Kabballah. According to our sages, there are four levels at which we can perceive our texts, from the simple, plain meaning, to the esoteric secret meaning. When we start to see even further below the surface, our tradition comes even more alive and meaningful.
The Enneagram emerges out of Sufism, Islamic mysticism, and has become a psychological/spiritual framework that dovetails in many interesting ways with Kabballah. We’ll explore the various connections between the pathways, and how we can better understand ourselves and our relationships with others as a result of these systems.
As winter comes, we withdraw inward a bit more, and this exploration will take us to new realms of thought and feeling. And in a world so bitterly divided, perhaps we’ll find more insight into what makes others tick, what ticks us off, and how to deal with life from a healing and insightful perspective.
Please join me in this adventure, I look forward to learning from you as we take on these vast, endless, and endlessly fascinating worlds of thought.
