OASW Windsor and Area Local Engagement Network Event -

Meet a Social Worker

University of Windsor Social Work students are welcome and encouraged to participate in this year's Meet a Social Worker event hosted by the OASW Windsor and Area Local Engagement Network on Thursday March 6th from 5-7pm at the School of Social Work (167 Ferry St). This event is a great occasion for students to meet and connect with 'seasoned' Social Workers from various avenues of practice and learn about the diverse opportunities that the field of social work offers. This event will work in the manner of a "speed dating" event where students will have the chance to ask questions to each of the professionals about their role, practice, experience in the field and more!

A Message from OASW

March 3 to 9 is Social Work Week in Ontario, and I’m writing to invite your school of social work to join us in recognizing the essential contributions of social workers across Ontario.

Our 2025 theme, Wherever you are, so are we, speaks to the availability and versatility of the social work profession. In schools, community centres, doctor’s offices, hospitals, long-term care homes, libraries and more, social workers are here to support Ontarians through all of life’s challenges and complications.

You can find initial campaign details and materials here on our website, with a full campaign toolkit to be available later this month. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this March, and we look forward to engaging online using the #SoAreWe hashtag.

We also invite you to share campaign details with your students and alumni.

Spread Social Work Pride

This year, we’ve made it easier than ever to put your social work pride on display, or to appreciate social work colleagues in your department. You can now shop for social work merchandise including notebooks, pens, keychains, drinkware, tote bags, clothing and more at oasw.estoreplatform.com/en/cad.

Thank you for all that you do, and I hope you’ll join us in celebrating social workers this March 3 to 9.
