Just Who Do We Think We Are?
Gregg Braden Says...

"In the presence of the greatest technological advancements of the modern world, science still cannot answer the most fundamental question of our existence: Who are we?"

"Since our earliest ancestors looked with awe into the distant stars of a moonless night sky, a single question has been asked countless times by countless numbers of people sharing the same experience through the ages. The question they've asked speaks directly to the core of every challenge that will ever test us in life, no matter how big or how small. It's at the heart of every choice we'll ever face, and it forms the foundation for every decision we'll ever make. The question that's at the root of all questions asked during the estimated 200,000 years or so that we've been on earth is simply this: Who are we?"

"Our self-esteem, our self-worth, our sense of confidence, our well-being, and our safety stem directly from the way we think of ourselves in the world."
Gregg Braden, The Science of Self-empowerment:
Awakening the New Human Story, Introduction, xi
Greetings!

I had the opportunity to hear Gregg Braden in person at a Hay House "I Can Do It" Conference in Pasadena, CA, in the mid 2000s. The three day conference was an opportunity to hear a wonderful group of Hay House speakers. It was also an opportunity to visit with my sister Zoe who lives in Pasadena and who attended the conference with me. Besides Gregg Braden, we had the opportunity to attend sessions with Louise Hay, Dr. Brian Weiss, Dr. Wayne Dyer, John Holland, and Doreen Virtue, among many others. What an outstanding event that was!

I remember being so impressed with Gregg Braden because of his unique appearance, his smooth, comforting voice, and his unusual presentation combining scientific facts with new age ideas.
Gregg Braden is the best selling author of twelve books using his science background to explain our human potential for living our best lives. There is a list of all his books in the link for his biography below.

His newest book, published in 2019, is The Science of Self-Empowerment: Awakening the New Human Story. The first part of the book describes the "new human story" based on recent DNA findings that provide the basis for his theory about who we are and why we are here. So interesting! The second part explains how the new discoveries can provide answers to our purpose for our lives, and a method of enhancing our potential to thrive.
You can see him speak on either of the short videos below where he explains the scientific evidence for his theory about the advantage of aligning our heart with our brain for maximum health and well-being and the simple method of accomplishing the coherence.

Whether you are already familiar with Gregg Braden or are just learning about his vast collection of work, I hope this introduction to his newest book and his fascinating concepts sparks your interest in watching the videos and perhaps reading the book.

Be well and enjoy your amazing life!
Sending my love,
Shari
Who is Gregg Braden?

"Gregg Braden is a Templeton Prize Nominee, scientist, international educator and renowned as a pioneer in the emerging paradigm based in science, social policy and human potential.

He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and is active with visionary organizations including the HeartMath Global Coherence Initiative and The Arlington Institute.

Braden has presented his discoveries in over 30 countries on six continents and has been invited to speak to The United Nations, Fortune 500 companies and the U. S. military." He is the author of twelve award winning books, which are listed in his full bio via the link below.

About The Science of Self Empowerment

The first part of the book details the DNA findings of the Human Genome Project. Braden contends that studying the DNA of human beings informs scientists that the first human beings suddenly appeared on the earth 200,000 years ago. The science negates what has been thought and taught in the past about humans evolving from apes or Neanderthals. Braden suggests an alternative theory to human origins besides Darwin's evolution on one end of the spectrum and Creationism (which is based on religious writings) on the other end.
Braden describes how since the discovery of DNA, scientists find that 200,000 years ago there was a mutation of two human chromosomes (#2 and #7) in which two genes changed position and fused. This was a sudden change creating the first humans which looked exactly like today's modern humans. This change gave humans the advanced capabilities of intuition, sympathy, empathy, and compassion. Humans are the only species capable of such intelligent and creative sentiments.

Braden further asserts that this sudden change had to have been a deliberate act by an intelligence. Exactly what intelligence, Science doesn't know. His theory also purports that realizing that humans were created deliberately with advanced capabilities, explains our purpose. He proposes that since we were designed as creatures--the only creatures--who have the gifts of sympathy, empathy, intuition, compassion, that our life's purpose, indeed the purpose of our species, is to develop, improve, and ultimately perfect and master these most advanced skills.
The second part of the book contends that we are "wired" for those capabilities in our heart center, and Braden offers a method of enhancing those qualities through a method that involves connecting the heart with the brain. He describes that science is finding that the brain is not necessarily the center of control in the body and that the heart and brain work together. His thesis is that we can enhance the connection between the two which will help us individually and the world as a whole.

As you can infer, this book is quite technical, but Braden writes clearly in a way that is understandable to non-scientists. Anyone interested in the new discoveries that the study of DNA brings to the understanding of human beings should not hesitate to read it.
What Happens When We Die?
Thich Nhat Hanh Says...
"Birth and death are only a door through which we go in and out. Birth and death are only a game of hide-and-seek. So smile to me and take my hand and wave goodbye. Tomorrow we shall meet again or even before."

Past Life Stories
Ann C. Barham Says...
"There really is nothing to fear from the concept of reincarnation. Today over half the world's population espouses this belief -- for good reason. There is a great sense of serenity that comes from knowing that the deepest parts of ourselves will always exist, that we are much more than just our current physical bodies, and that we have many opportunities to master human existence and learn the lessons we are here to learn. For many people, the idea just makes sense."

The Power of Our Thoughts
Abraham Says...

"The joyous place you may be standing is temporary, and the abhorrent place that you may be standing is temporary. Your now reality is only a temporary, momentary culmination of what you’ve been thinking about."

"Cancer mortality rates in the United States have dropped by a third since the 90s due to 'major progress' in early detection and treatment for lung cancer. Lung cancer mortality decreased by 5% each year between 2015 and 2019 and is attributed to annual screenings and smoking prevention programs." CNN

"The Kenyan government has made a historic commitment to the rights of women and girls, vowing to end gender-based violence by 2026. $23 million has been allocated to prevention and response services, research, and the establishment of a survivors’ fund. The achievement comes after decades of tireless advocacy." Gates Foundation

"Over a thousand fin whales were seen swimming last week in the seas off Antarctica, the same ocean they were driven to near-extinction last century. Conor Ryan, the @whale_nerd that spotted them, said that in 20 years at sea he's never seen anything like it. "Words fail me. I've seen maybe 100 fins here before in previous years."
